Ilanit dreamed of being an astronaut, playing amongst the stars. But family tradition would draw her back to this big round globe. And guess where she landed? The world of architecture.
No Barbie dolls for this girl…not even Astronaut Barbie. With her Legos, glue and scissors in hand, she would “shadow” her dad as he worked on architecture projects late into the night. That family time led Ila to Venezuela’s Central University and then to Florida International University. Her education may have been worlds apart in geography, but not in practice. Ila achieved two architectural degrees.
Not surprisingly, Ilanit is passionate about design. She combines creativity and innovation to create happy, sensory rich, comfortable places to make this planet a little better. Her current work with Dreyfuss + Blackford includes the County of Santa Clara Animal Services Center.
“We are the biggest world sculptors who give shape to this physical world and people’s lives. Our mission is huge.”
