Study

Placer County is planning for a new Health & Human Services building to bring together employees currently located throughout the area, and we helped them determine and quantify their programmatic requirements for this new centralized location.

Initially, we determined their goals and held benchmarking tours of other relevant projects in the area. We also compiled historic staffing data and confirmed current employee information for the Auburn Service Delivery Area. With County leadership input, we used this information to develop divisional growth projections. Working with individuals inside the County and division, we analyzed their current service delivery methods and identified modifications with regard to their application at a new facility.

For a new Public Health Lab, we provided feasibility and cost analysis, space requirements and its relationship to a new facility. The lab provides bioterrorism response catchment for several jurisdictions as a Biosafety Level 3 Laboratory.

We also created adjacency diagrams, along with summaries for space and site area needs. Basic massing diagrams were included, along with 3D diagrams of the preferred option. With all of this information, and the project cost estimate and schedule and delivery model options, we gave the County our findings report, for review and approval to move forward.
