The County of San Mateo wanted to offer their employees state-of-the-art and efficient workplace environments. Dreyfuss + Blackford was contracted by the County to provide detailed options for the optimum future development of the core Government Center location in Redwood City. These efforts include analysis and survey of multiple existing department space requirements throughout the County; understanding best space service-line relationships/adjacencies; and possible reuse/renovation of select existing buildings vs. possible new office construction.
This exercise will conclude with master plan documentation of new build/renovation options (replacing leased space), phasing and high level cost estimating. Additionally, a parking study and recommendation for sizing of new structured parking will be included.
Departmental functions included Government Assembly spaces (Board of Supervisors Chamber), County Health Services and traditional office spaces to flex between multiple departmental uses. D+B facilitated multiple Core Team and Project Stakeholder meetings and introduced best practice examples of workplace solutions.
