Overview
El Dorado County has had a chronic shortage of adequate courtroom space for more than a decade, so when the Statewide AOC took over court operations in 2005, their need was categorized as critical. We were selected from 43 architectural firms to design a new consolidated courthouse for the County. Preliminary studies were done for a site immediately next to the County jail. Subsequently, a broader countywide site search was conducted for suitable candidate sites.

The new courthouse will contain six courtrooms and supporting administrative space, as well as provisions for two additional courtrooms in the future. We have completed a master plan and are currently working on site selection, environmental documentation and facility programming.Building design will start in 2011.
