Starting with detailed programming, this study developed a 150,000-square-foot new consolidated corporation yard on 22 acres for the City of West Sacramento. Interviews and workshops with staff helped determine program components and functional layouts. Distinct savings in both space and operations will be realized, particularly in vehicle maintenance and warehouse functions. Tenant agencies include City of West Sacramento Public Works, Parks and Recreation, Facilities, Building Inspection, and Fire Department Training.
Recent State legislation opened the door for a Design/Build delivery method. Qualified Design/Build entities will engage in a limited competition to deliver best value to the City under a Guaranteed Maximum Price, saving the City approximately six months over traditional Design/Bid?Build delivery.
