A Change of Scenery in San Francisco

Scott Shannon

April 7, 2017

Last April, we announced that Dreyfuss + Blackford had opened a new office in San Francisco.  Today we are excited to announce that our San Francisco office has a brand-new location: 735 Montgomery Street.

So why the move?  Well, the San Francisco office had been growing fast, and with the addition of Chris Avanzino to the team, it was apparent the old arrangement—a few desks in MKThink’s office—was no longer going to meet the office’s needs.  We also realized this was the perfect opportunity to both solidify and express the firm’s San Francisco identity.

We scouted out several locations, but none them came close to having the same appeal as 735 Montgomery, a 93-year-old building on a tree-lined street north of the Transamerica pyramid.  Situated on the western edge of the Jackson Square neighborhood, our office is a mere stone’s throw from China Town, Little Italy, and the Financial District.

This part of San Francisco was once known for its rowdy dance halls, saloons, and jazz clubs, but times have changed. Today Jackson Square sports a wide range of trendy boutique shops and eateries.  Neighborhood boosters tout it as the place to visit for “world class antiques, fine art, and cutting edge design.”

Cutting edge design, you say?  We think we will fit right in!
