At Dreyfuss + Blackford Architecture, we believe in the power of community involvement and continuous learning. That’s why we encourage our employees, regardless of experience, to actively participate in professional groups within our local community. One organization that holds a special place in our hearts is the American Institute of Architects (AIA), a driving force behind positive change in the architectural industry.

Many of our team members hold memberships with either the Central Valley or California chapters of AIA. In fact, we’re proud to share that two of our esteemed leaders, Amy Eliot and Ginger Thompson, have recently assumed prominent roles within AIA CA Executive Committee. Amy has been elected as the Vice President of Education/Professional Development, while Ginger serves as the Vice President of the Academy of Emerging Professionals (AEP).

Amy’s background for education and professional development aligns perfectly with her role’s responsibilities, while Ginger’s passion for supporting emerging professionals makes her an ideal fit for leading AEP. Together, they epitomize the impact architects can have when they actively engage in professional development groups dedicated to enhancing the industry’s future. Education lies at the heart of their mission, with an emphasis on bridging the gap between architectural education costs and professional pay scales. Both women envision a future where architects have access to comprehensive educational resources that go beyond traditional curriculum, equipping the new generation with the necessary tools to excel in their careers.

AIA serves as a platform for professionals of all backgrounds and experience levels to come together and drive meaningful change in the industry. By fostering mentorship, networking, and community involvement, AIA empowers individuals to make a tangible difference in shaping the future of architecture. If you’re passionate about making a positive impact on the industry’s future, we invite you to join us in becoming a member of AIA. Together, we can work towards creating a more equitable and inclusive architectural landscape for future generations.
