Katie Marcyan

Associate AIA
Project Designer

If you were to ask Katie what she wanted to be when she grew up she would have answered Indiana Jones…or an architect. As it turns out archaeologists don’t actually uncover enchanted treasure (or fight Nazis for that matter) – so architecture it was.

Her time spent at the University of Michigan fostered a desire to fuse sustainable building practices with conscience design. As Katie’s first love affair had been with archaeology, she still had an insatiable desire to learn and filled her school years with academic research assisting professors in everything from urban theory manuscripts to building systems and environmental simulation analysis; including energy consumption, artificial and day lighting, as well as building acoustics. Katie has continued to conduct research throughout her career receiving her Evidence-Based Design Accreditation and Certification through the Center for Health Design.

Outside of work, Katie is a bit of a thrill seeker. One activity she would love to try is skydiving. She is also a resource for all things sports related and random trivia. Sounds like Cash Cab is calling her name!

“What three adjectives best describe me? I recently took the Clifton StrengthsFinder test and my top three strengths were Leaner, Achiever, and Responsibility.”
