Will is compelled to draw. Always has been. He remembers in 6th grade teaching drawing to Mrs. Fryer’s third graders. And in high school, he discovered “Commercial Art” and his teacher told him, “Someday all of this work will be done on the computer”. Will laughed. Today, he still does his share of drawing, but Will also uses computers for design work… at least most of it. Case in point: the tremendous rebranding effort for Dreyfuss + Blackford which includes this new website!
Aside from working with “brilliant designers” at Dreyfuss + Blackford, Will draws inspiration from students at Sacramento State and Sacramento City College where he teaches several design courses. Will’s mantra? Every design challenge has an infinite number of solutions; you just need to find the most appropriate one.
“I had already committed to teaching but really wanted to work here; I’d been a fan for quite some time. With great support, I juggled a full schedule of work and teaching. My college classes have calmed down lately and I have since found a degree of equilibrium in this collaborative and creative environment.”
